TESLAC is available for oral administration as tablets providing 50 mg testolactone Acetate per tablet. Testolactone Acetate is a synthetic antineoplastic agent that is structurally distinct from the androgen steroid nucleus in possessing a six-membered lactone ring in place of the usual five-membered carbocyclic D-ring. Testolactone Acetate is chemically designated as 13-hydroxy-3-oxo-13,17-secoandrosta-1,4-dien-17-oic acid δ-lactone.
Testolactone Acetate is an antineoplastic that is related to testosterone but has not been shown to have the masculine effects of testosterone. It works by blocking the production of estrogen, which helps prevent the growth of breast cancers that are activated by estrogen. It may also prevent tumor cells from being activated by other hormones.
